Join Dúlra Forest School in the woods of Cill Dara for an immersive, bilingual (Gaeilge & English) evening of nature-based crafting. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to cleave native Irish wood and carve your own simple butter knife using traditional hand tools. As the light fades, we’ll gather timpeall an tine (around the fire) to sand, shape, and oil your creation by firelight — connecting with the forest, each other, and the quiet rhythm of craft.

No experience necessary — this event is suitable for complete beginners and welcomes adults aged 18–35, while remaining accessible to older participants. All materials, tools, and guidance provided.

This is a unique opportunity to cruthaigh rud álainn (create something beautiful), learn a heritage skill, and experience the calm magic of twilight in the woods. Hosted by Dúlra Forest School, a nature education organisation rooted in ceangal le dúlra (connection with nature).
