Join us for Dúlra Wilderness Summer Camps where children aged 5-12 can experience the outdoors like never before. Our camps focus on play, learning, and developing independence through hands-on activities, games, nature crafts, bushcraft, and much more.

🌳 Osberstown Forest, Sallins

Located just outside Sallins, Osberstown Forest is a beautiful ash forest with a slope perfect for hidden dens and mudslides. The site features hawthorn and goat willow trees, an amazing den building area, and plenty of natural play spaces. Easily accessible from Naas, it’s just a short walk from Sallins and includes on-site parking near Acorn Creche.

What to Expect

The day is full of exciting activities, all while following a natural rhythm. After a fun morning of play, we gather for snack time and handwashing, where children can share what they've been up to. If it's a fire day, we'll light up the campfire together. Following this, it’s more child-led exploration – with plenty of resources for nature crafts, food prep, or maybe even building a rope swing or crossing the rope bridge. For those seeking a quieter moment, hammocks offer a peaceful place to relax or sketch animals and collect nature materials.

After a shared tea, the morning group heads home, while full-day children enjoy their lunch before returning to more child-led exploration, a nature walk, or more creative projects. Throughout the day, children lead their own adventures, with our team offering guidance and support as needed.

Children are supported by qualified and experienced Forest School Leaders and Assistants who create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

What to Bring: A healthy lunch, plenty of water, spare clothes (including waterproofs), and a big smile!

What to Wear: Weather-appropriate outdoor gear (rain gear, boots, sun protection). Please ensure all items are labelled with your child’s name.

Important: After booking, you’ll receive a full confirmation email with everything you need to know — what to wear, what to bring, drop-off details, and more. Please look out for this email, separate from your ticket receipt.

“My 8 year old boy has just finished up another summer camp with Kate and Cressida. A wholesome week outdoors learning lots and having fun. Thankfully the Irish weather didn’t deter him in the mornings. He loved the crafts that he made taking immense pride in his butter knife. He’s also done the afterschool programme on Wednesdays which is a great way to spend an evening after being cooped up in a classroom.”

🎟 We run at a maximum of 24-32 children per week (depending on the site) to ensure a child-centred experience. Morning and full-day options run side-by-side, creating one shared group experience.

Important Information

• Ages: Our camps are designed for children aged 5-12. If you feel your child might be a good fit outside of this range (+/- 1 year), please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
  
  

• Inclusion: We aim to cater for all children and offer an inclusive space. If your child has additional needs or requires extra support, please contact us before booking, as a high degree of independence is required for participation in the camp.
  
  

• Toilet Facilities: We provide a private outdoor area for "wild wees". Children need to be comfortable with wearing and removing their wet gear independently. We also have a camping toilet for urgent number 2s. Please ensure your child is prepared for this aspect of the camp.
